Salon Melbourne - Beauty Expo Vlog + FOTD

Hello fab cats!

It's been a while since I've uploaded a new video, but on the bright side, I'm done with my masters! I handed in my thesis end of October and I've been enjoying my free time learning and catching up on some good books.

This short vlog's a bit about my experience attending Salon Melbourne and I got my very first media pass! I'm so annoyed that I lost my very first pass, but meh, more to come! Salon Melbourne's a professional beauty trade show and the best part of the event is, discounted beauty products! I set myself a budget and tried very hard to stick to it. XD My haul video will be uploaded very soon.

I have to point out that this video's way overdue, almost 8 months (it was held in March)! But I figured I'll just upload it for your viewing pleasure.

Before I get ranting and stuff, I'd like to say that I'll be back to the virtual world on YouTube! I've taken great interest on producing videos and I'd really like to share my very first beauty YouTube video with you. I also have a couple lifestyle vlogs, which you can check out here: http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLNL8pHooG9RJSautVp0WCLLhX136FHmel.

Elizabeth Arden 2013 Christmas Gift Set

Christmas is just around the corner!!

One of the reasons why I really look forward to Christmas is for the gift sets! I'm pretty sure you've practically memorised (and fiddled with) every makeup item available at your beauty counter, Christmas specials will always breathes in a fresh breath of air into your beauty shopping.

While browsing David Jones a few weeks ago, I noticed a huge box of makeup from Elizabeth Arden going for AU$99 - the Elizabeth Arden Red Hot Croc Color Collection. It's practically a complete makeup set, minus the foundation! It was a hugeee steal and I was confident that my mom would love it.

I dragged my mom to David Jones a few days later and she instantly fell in love with the set. Lol. After much time contemplation, my mom longingly decided she didn't need it but she talked about the set for days. You know what that means.

Fast forward a week, I saw the set going for AU$79. I HAD TO HAVE IT!! I knew my mom was going to love her surprise!

Cheshire Cat Look + Giveaway with ilovesexy.com!!

Hi dolls!

Halloween is about a month away and it's one of my favourite makeup experimentation times!

I was contacted by the lovely people at ilovesexy.com about a collaboration opportunity and I was more than excited to work with them!

ilovesexy.com carries a wide variety of costumes (Halloween guys!!), clubwear, ravewear, lingerie and basically anything sexy. XD Although I'm way too conservative, ab-less and boob-less for some of their gorgeous outfits, I do enjoy browsing through their website and I'm a big fan of their LBD section!

While browsing through their website, I instantly fell in love with this purple pink ombre wig! I loved it so much that I decided to share this wig with a giveaway, courtesy of ilovesexy.com! Do check out this wig giveaway at the end of the blogpost!

Napoleon Perdis Set Lipstick Review + Giveaway!

Hey lovelies!

A few weeks back, I checked my mail and was surprised to receive 2 Napoleon Perdis Set lipsticks in my mailbox! Surprise makeup via mail, almost as good as surprise flowers.

Apparently, NP was giving out some free lipsticks and the bf decided to get 2 for me. According to his logic, if one is good, two must be better! XD

Well, I don't need 2 lipsticks so I'll giving one away the second lipstick to one of you!

Kiss Me: Heavy Rotation Milky Color Lips 04

Hey lippie lovers!

A quick review on Kiss Me's Heavy Rotation Milky Color Lips in 04.

A while ago, a best friend of mine gave me this lipstick cause it didn't work on her dark skin at all. Since I have fairer skin, I gave it a go!

I used to be all about the nude lips, white pale and oh so glossy, complete with concealer and the works. Fast forward to the present, I've become a lazy lip balm girl or on good days, I'll pick the brightest lipstick I could find. XD

This lipstick looks and feel very milky on my lips, emphasising it's name - Milky Color Lips!

Hello lovelies!

I'm still on a 2NE1 Falling in Love roll here, please bear with me. I'm having too much fun to stop. XD

This time, I tried creating CL's signature eyeliner and huge cat eyed lashes from the Falling In Love MV.

I was too hard to pass up experimenting with eyeliner and huge eyelashes!

2NE1 Falling In Love - Minzy Inspired Eyeliner + My natural eyebrows!

Hey dolls!

The coloured eyeliner's all the rage right now because it's a cute way to add colour for the summer.

PISH.

It's freezing here in Melbourne.

*imagines self in a beautiful Bali resort*

Coloured eyeliner's super simple to achieve and it's a great chance for those eyeshadow hoarders out there to finally bring that pretty coloured eyeshadow out. Yes, you know who you are. You have a zillion coloured eyeshadows but only use your trusty Naked Palette. *nudge nudge*

Galaxy Inspired Full Look

Hi dolls!

It's been a while since I've blogged. Exams ended exactly a week ago and I enjoyed waking up without having to worry about any upcoming assignments or exams.

I'm thinking of flying to Sydney or Adelaide for the holidays, but money can be a factor here.

Jibber jabber aside, remember by Galaxy Inspired Eye for a while back? I went tru my pictures again and thought I'd post my full face as well. I simply can't remember what I used for my lips and it's driving me up the wall!

Max Factor Lipfinity Lip Color - Essential Violet

Greetings fellow beauty junkie!

Today's I'll be reviewing the second 'long lasting' lip product I've ever owned.

My first one was a MAC Pro Longwear Lipcolor (this one) back in 2005/2006 and gosh how I disliked it. I thought it was a normal lip gloss, and for the price of one, I get 2 lip glosses! Boy was I wrong. When I applied it, I freaked out because I couldn't remove them and didn't even own an oil-based remover at that time. I think my mom gained a new lip product that day.

So fast forward to 2013, I decided to pick this Max Factor Lipfinity Lip Color in 310 Essential Violet to give it a go.

B&C Lash Sculpture Long Separate Mascara

Hey dolls!

Here's a review on the B&C Lash Sculpture Long Separate Mascara!

*phew that was a mouthfull*

When I was back home in Malaysia, I went totally crazy at Sasa and picked up a bunch of awesome Asian products!

This mascara was the first thing that ripped open because I am a sucker for comb mascaras. I simply am not a fan of huge bushy brush mascaras because of its tendency to accidentally get smudged everywhere during application.

So more onto the Lash Sculpture mascara!

The mascara promises to lengthen (by 130% I assume) and separates every lash with its unique lash comb.

However, I had a problem with the comb picking up way too much products and "glopping" them onto my lashes.

Some people may like the plump thick effect mascaras can give, but that's not for me.

A word of caution, the formula may go on rather clumpy during a second layer application. Looking at the picture below,

Left:
One layer applied.

Right:
Second layer applied after 20 seconds.

The first layer went on beautifully, but you could clearly see small clumps on the second layer.

Me no like.

Another great thing about Asian mascaras, it comes out easily with warm water! Woohoo!

On days when I'm too lazy with makeup, I usually apply mascara only because I can easily wash them off with warm water during my bath. Score!

✽ Overall ✽

Product quality: ♥ ♥ ♥
Ease of use: ♥ ♥ ♥
Test of time: ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

❝ Pros
Lashes look voluminous and darker, with more definition.
Comb wand separates lashes compared to brush wands.Easily removed with warm water.Hold a curl like a pro, yo.
Stays on forever. Could probably pass the 24 hour test with flying colours.

❝ Cons
Comb wand picks up too much product.
Formula not layering-friendly. Clumps form during second layer application.
Lashes dries SOOOO hard and stiff.

TL;DR:
There are better Asian mascaras out there. You could probably skip out on this one.
Unless you're looking for a mascara that can seriously hold a curl and a kazillion other mascaras failed you, you could give this a go.

And I'll end this post with full eye makeup on with the mascara!

Cheers!!

Galaxy Inspired Eyes

Whew it's been a while since I've sat down and blogged!

Last week had been a whirlwind of assignments and it was sheer madness!

For my chill time, I decided to play with makeup!

I've been wanting to try a cut crease and my hand instantly grabbed pink, turquoise and blue! The end look reminded me of pretty galaxy pictures, hence the name Galaxy Inspired Eyes!

It was my first time trying this multi-coloured palette I bought from ebay, cause I thought 'Hey! How bad could it be?' and I was proven wrong. The pigmentation wasn't so good and fallout was crazy! I'm pretty disappointed with my purchase but I managed to save this look by layering over the ebay eyeshadow with other better eyeshadow. So yay!

Playing with makeup's really therapeutic, what do you think?

Btw, check out my giveaway if you haven't!
M.May's Birthday Beauty Giveaway!

Cheers and thank you!!

Sexy Swatch: MAC Dazzleglass Creme in Amorous

MAC Dazzleglass in Amorous.

I love the luxurious packaging, brush applicator and of course, the beautiful glittery red formula that really does the name Amorous justice.

Unfortunately, it's been discontinued. XD

If this post sent you into an adrenalin high and you're already planning your next visit at MAC, I apologize. I couldn't resist sharing life's little luxuries with you guys.

Anyhoooo... I hope you enjoyed the eye candy!

Do you have a favourite red gloss?

Cheers!!

Cat Eyes Lashes DIY

Hello KittyKats!

So I bought one of those 10 pairs boxed eyelashes and after using 3 pairs, I got sick of them.

I'm really gentle with my lashes so one pair, no matter how thin the bands are, can last me ages and ages.

With more than half a box left, I decided to cut my lashes up and make different types of lashes out of them.

Today I decided to combine the lashes above with my favourite demi-lashes.

I chose a particularly wonky one, as you can see below because the demi lashes layered over it will over the wonky parts up.

The steps are pretty self explanatory, but I somehow feel the need to type out an explanation which many of you would probably skip or skim over. I know I would. XD

Step 1:
Trace out demi lashes shape.

Step 2:
Trace out wonky lashes length and 'connect-the-dots' to the demi-lash.

Step 3:
Snip snip snip.

Step 4:
Glue glue glue.

Step 5:
Done done done.

Lol I'm EXCELLENT at describing stuff.

My services are available for for hire if you need a 'professional product describer'.

Woof woof!

The lashes look pretty natural in length and the flick achieved with the demi-lashes gives my dull dull boxed lashes a new fun look!

Do you layer your lashes?

FYI, I have a friend who layers three pairs of lashes for daily wear.

Too much? What do you think?

Cheers!!

CL "New Evolution" Poster Inspired

Hello dolls!

It's been ages since I've blogged. I've had a good long holiday back home in Malaysia and now it's back to reality.

Oh Malaysia, how I miss the food.

But yes, back to the blog post!

I'm a huge fan of 2NE1 for their talent and style. I mean, they can rock sneakers to a red carpet event.

'nuff saif.

I'd love to go on about how awesome 2NE1 is, but that's for another time. =D

I was inspired by CL's 'New Evolution' poster and I decided to recreate the look.

CL's rocking Violent Lip's B&W Stripes but I decided to challenge myself by painting on each and every stripe.

*oh the horror*

CL has on Jeremy Scott's unicorn dress from his F/W 2012 RTW Collection.

Unicorn. RTW. Right... No thank you.

Instead, I've replaced the unicorn with a bear! Meet my crazy ass multi-coloured bear named Paddle Pop. It's hard not to love such a funky looking bear, no?

On my eyes, I have 3 layers of false of eyelashes to recreate the fluttery lashes on CL.

The lips were filled in with a silver cream eyeshadow and black gel eyeliner for the stripes.

I hope you enjoyed this blog post and I plan to do more Kpop inspired makeup looks in the future!

Are you a Kpop fan? Tell me your favourite Kpop group!

*Gangnam Style doesn't count*

XD

Cheers!!
