Salon Melbourne - Beauty Expo Vlog + FOTD

Hello fab cats!

It's been a while since I've uploaded a new video, but on the bright side, I'm done with my masters! I handed in my thesis end of October and I've been enjoying my free time learning and catching up on some good books.

This short vlog's a bit about my experience attending Salon Melbourne and I got my very first media pass! I'm so annoyed that I lost my very first pass, but meh, more to come! Salon Melbourne's a professional beauty trade show and the best part of the event is, discounted beauty products! I set myself a budget and tried very hard to stick to it. XD My haul video will be uploaded very soon.

I have to point out that this video's way overdue, almost 8 months (it was held in March)! But I figured I'll just upload it for your viewing pleasure.

Halloween is about a month away and it's one of my favourite makeup experimentation times!

I was contacted by the lovely people at ilovesexy.com about a collaboration opportunity and I was more than excited to work with them!

ilovesexy.com carries a wide variety of costumes (Halloween guys!!), clubwear, ravewear, lingerie and basically anything sexy. XD Although I'm way too conservative, ab-less and boob-less for some of their gorgeous outfits, I do enjoy browsing through their website and I'm a big fan of their LBD section!

While browsing through their website, I instantly fell in love with this purple pink ombre wig! I loved it so much that I decided to share this wig with a giveaway, courtesy of ilovesexy.com! Do check out this wig giveaway at the end of the blogpost!

2NE1 Falling in Love - CL Inspired Look

This time, I tried creating CL's signature eyeliner and huge cat eyed lashes from the Falling In Love MV.

Coloured eyeliner's super simple to achieve and it's a great chance for those eyeshadow hoarders out there to finally bring that pretty coloured eyeshadow out. Yes, you know who you are. You have a zillion coloured eyeshadows but only use your trusty Naked Palette. *nudge nudge*

When they finally released Falling In Love after ages and ages, I went total sassang for 5 minutes... and then I calmed down. Heh.

Galaxy Inspired Full Look

Hi dolls!

It's been a while since I've blogged. Exams ended exactly a week ago and I enjoyed waking up without having to worry about any upcoming assignments or exams.

I'm thinking of flying to Sydney or Adelaide for the holidays, but money can be a factor here.

Jibber jabber aside, remember by Galaxy Inspired Eye for a while back? I went tru my pictures again and thought I'd post my full face as well. I simply can't remember what I used for my lips and it's driving me up the wall!

My Graduation!

Anddd hello hello!

Just a quick update, my graduation was exactly a week ago! I can finally close my undergrad life chapter.

I was supposed to graduate in 2012 but spaces were limited and I had to opt for a later slot yada yada yada.

But anyway, WOOHOO! *throws confetti*

And here's a small FOTD and OOTD-ish, just for fun!

 

I opted for really simple eye makeup, a wash of bronze eyeshadow (can't remember exactly what I used), eyeliner on top and bottom lash line, small wispy demi lashes and that's about it!

And here are my favourite elements for the day!

The lace dress was a steal from boohoo.com, the necklace was a gift from my parents (I suspect they were sick of my key pendant (anyone noticed it?) which they got me 2 years ago. Mehhhh...), ombre glitter nails and my faculty's graduation sash!

Coincidently, that was also my favourite colour among all the faculty colours, and also one of my favourite colours!

Mummy personally picked out the bouquet for me! Mainly because she liked them. I'm not surprised. If I were to pick a bouquet for myself, they would definitely consist of blue roses.

Guess what, the tulips are growing! They're way higher than the roses now and they're starting to bloom as well.

Who knew?



Ok back to studying for me! It's exam week. XS

Galaxy Inspired Eyes

Whew it's been a while since I've sat down and blogged!

Last week had been a whirlwind of assignments and it was sheer madness!

For my chill time, I decided to play with makeup!

I've been wanting to try a cut crease and my hand instantly grabbed pink, turquoise and blue! The end look reminded me of pretty galaxy pictures, hence the name Galaxy Inspired Eyes!

It was my first time trying this multi-coloured palette I bought from ebay, cause I thought 'Hey! How bad could it be?' and I was proven wrong. The pigmentation wasn't so good and fallout was crazy! I'm pretty disappointed with my purchase but I managed to save this look by layering over the ebay eyeshadow with other better eyeshadow. So yay!

Playing with makeup's really therapeutic, what do you think?

CL "New Evolution" Poster Inspired

Hello dolls!

It's been ages since I've blogged. I've had a good long holiday back home in Malaysia and now it's back to reality.

Oh Malaysia, how I miss the food.

But yes, back to the blog post!

I'm a huge fan of 2NE1 for their talent and style. I mean, they can rock sneakers to a red carpet event.

'nuff saif.

I'd love to go on about how awesome 2NE1 is, but that's for another time. =D

I was inspired by CL's 'New Evolution' poster and I decided to recreate the look.

CL's rocking Violent Lip's B&W Stripes but I decided to challenge myself by painting on each and every stripe.

*oh the horror*

CL has on Jeremy Scott's unicorn dress from his F/W 2012 RTW Collection.

Unicorn. RTW. Right... No thank you.

Instead, I've replaced the unicorn with a bear! Meet my crazy ass multi-coloured bear named Paddle Pop. It's hard not to love such a funky looking bear, no?

On my eyes, I have 3 layers of false of eyelashes to recreate the fluttery lashes on CL.

The lips were filled in with a silver cream eyeshadow and black gel eyeliner for the stripes.

New Years 2013

Hello my beauties.

I hope the first 12 days of 2013 has been treating you well.

It's been a while since I've blogged, so here's a simple post to wish all of you a great 2013 ahead. We survived 2012 (no end of the year pun intended) and it made us stronger.

It's been exactly a month since I've been back home in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and really I'm enjoying my time at home!

Aside from good food, fab shopping and people I love, I have... really bad internet. Blah. Every internet related plans of mine are being stubborn and not working according to plan.

Anywayyyyy... Here's my New Years makeup!

Lol apologies for the creasing, but these were taken 12 hours after application and they held up pretty well!

I went for a dramatic-natural look (does that make sense??) by extending out the eyeliner way more than I've ever tried and piled on 5 layers of mascara.

They turned out pretty natural on pictures but looked rather dark and smokey under dim lights.

I should shudder at my teenage self, but I wore those outfits with pride. So kudos to my old self. XD

Super Easy Ombre Lips

Hello my dearies!

It's been a while, hasn't it? XD

Exams this year's pretty chill-ish cause my exam dates were pretty spread out but I did put my blog aside for a bit even tho I've had some posts ready on my draft. Bleh!

Yes, back to ombré lips! They're also fondly known as Just Bitten Lips, Lollipop Lips and whole bunch of other cute names.

They're basically lip colours fading from one colour to another, with most common colour combinations of pinks and corals fading to a nude colour. It's a super fun trend to try and I really love the look! Be it black-red lips, purple-pink lips or rainbow lips, as long as they're a fun colour to try, I'm up for it!

It you're interested in getting super simple and cute ombré lips, here's a tutorial to get them in just 2 steps!

Step 1:

Apply a layer of lip colour on the inner part of your lips. I used my Revlon Lips Butter in Sweet Tart.

Step 2:

Blend out the colour using concealer.

And you now have super cute kissable lips! Super easy and you can achieve it without a lips brush, just use your fingers!

I love this method and it's versatility with colour choice.

Matte Orange Lips

Hellooooooooooo~~ (say it in the tone same as GD's One of A Kind. Go on. Give it a try)

Now that we're done greeting each other, yes, I have straight bangs now. I was really annoyed with my 'in between lengths' fringe one day and hacked it straight across at 2am. I am now officially a rather awesome hairstylist (IMO). Lol.

Ok anyway, back to the topic, I've been noticing girls rocking beautiful orange lips and I thought to myself "I want that!!!"

Completely forgetting that I owned orange lipstick used here coupled with the fact that I'm still on the vampy ombre lips phase and matte lips phase, I present you with orange-ish vampy lips!

For my lips, I:

♥

 1. Lined my lips with black eyeliner and shaded in the inner corners.

♥

2. Applied a light layer of lip balm to prepare for the next step.

♥

3. Patiently applied layer upon layer of orange eyeshadow on my lips till I achieved my desired intensity.

♥

4. Blended the black eyeliner with the orange eyeshadow.

I think I may have used too much orange eyeshadow because I was aiming for orange fruit kinda orange, but ended up with more of a burnt orange.

I guess I was too excited. XD

As for my eyes, it was my regular everyday eye makeup.

I lined my upper and lower eyeline with my Maybelline eyeliner and also applied white highlighter along the inner half of my bottom eyeline using my Revlon brow pencil duo.

Did anyone notice my natural nails? I'm giving them a breather for the week so please say hello to them! XD

Going With The Flow

I have no idea what to name this. XD

The other day I was watching Kpop MVs I decided to whip out my makeup and play with them a lil.

I had no plans whatsoever so I went with the flow.

Boy did I go with the flow.

I started off with happy colours for the eyes inspired by Super Junior H and B1A4 then finished off with a bold red lip and skull necklace inspired by 2NE1. 

When I was done, I was like "Whut? This no make sense." Lol. But I went ahead anyway.

And oh! I kept the headphones on. =D

Turquoise on the top and pink on the bottom! My 2 fave colours at the moment!

I also applied a whole lot of silver glitter all over the eyelids, but unfortunately the camera picked up the glitter weird.

Oh! Also black brows, cause I had a black liner in front me and I was lazy going with the flow.

Welcoming Spring

HELLO SPRING!!

I don't know about you, but I think the weather in Melbourne's really gorgeous these few days!

Seriously I'm really glad the weather's improving!

So to celebrate Spring, I decided to play with colours!

I decided to bring out my Fafi quad which I very very rarely use and play around with it!

Who here collectes LE cosmetics and never use them?

I really should start using my LE ones, instead of letting them go to waste!

So anyway, this is what I came up with!

 To tell the truth, I don't really like what I came up with but I just wanted to celebrate spring.
