B&C Lash Sculpture Long Separate Mascara

Hey dolls!

Here's a review on the B&C Lash Sculpture Long Separate Mascara!

*phew that was a mouthfull*

When I was back home in Malaysia, I went totally crazy at Sasa and picked up a bunch of awesome Asian products!

This mascara was the first thing that ripped open because I am a sucker for comb mascaras. I simply am not a fan of huge bushy brush mascaras because of its tendency to accidentally get smudged everywhere during application.

So more onto the Lash Sculpture mascara!

The mascara promises to lengthen (by 130% I assume) and separates every lash with its unique lash comb.

However, I had a problem with the comb picking up way too much products and "glopping" them onto my lashes.

Some people may like the plump thick effect mascaras can give, but that's not for me.

A word of caution, the formula may go on rather clumpy during a second layer application. Looking at the picture below,

Left:
One layer applied.

Right:
Second layer applied after 20 seconds.

The first layer went on beautifully, but you could clearly see small clumps on the second layer.

Me no like.

Another great thing about Asian mascaras, it comes out easily with warm water! Woohoo!

On days when I'm too lazy with makeup, I usually apply mascara only because I can easily wash them off with warm water during my bath. Score!

✽ Overall ✽

Product quality: ♥ ♥ ♥
Ease of use: ♥ ♥ ♥
Test of time: ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

❝ Pros
Lashes look voluminous and darker, with more definition.
Comb wand separates lashes compared to brush wands.Easily removed with warm water.Hold a curl like a pro, yo.
Stays on forever. Could probably pass the 24 hour test with flying colours.

❝ Cons
Comb wand picks up too much product.
Formula not layering-friendly. Clumps form during second layer application.
Lashes dries SOOOO hard and stiff.

TL;DR:
There are better Asian mascaras out there. You could probably skip out on this one.
Unless you're looking for a mascara that can seriously hold a curl and a kazillion other mascaras failed you, you could give this a go.

And I'll end this post with full eye makeup on with the mascara!

Cheers!!

Is it time to clean your mascara wand?

The big question is, is it ok to clean our mascara wands??

I had doubts about 'adding' germs to the wand from the water and tissue but I decided to give my mascara a good cleaning cause I couldn't stand the clumps no more.

I decided to clean my everyday fave mascara, Cosmagic Exte Bomber mascara which was one of the very first few beauty items I've reviewed!

I know we're supposed to throw our mascara away after 3 months bla bla bla... But as long as the mascara does not irritate my eyes, I'll keep going. XD

I WILL NOT ABANDON YOU MASCARA!!

Here's the wand before it's 'cleaning session'. It had loads of fiber stuck in between the combs and the tip, but none of the fibers actually properly transfers to my lashes! The fiber application was clumpy and seriously, clumpy fiber makes clumps super obvious and I really disliked that!

I first wiped off all excess mascara onto a piece of tissue. There was soooo much product all clumped on the wand (pic above) and I really wondered how much product did I actually wipe away. Probably months and months of mascara, but oh well. XD

I finished off by wiping the wand on a piece of facial wipe and running the wand under luke warm water.

Voilà!! Clean mascara wand!

After cleaning the wand, the mascara application was very much smoother and the fibers were distributed evenly on my lashes.

I was really glad I gave my mascara wand a good cleaning cause now I can continue to use my favourite mascara for a lil longer!

Btw, I also read that you can clean your wand by dipping it into cleaning alcohol or something like that. That sounds like a good idea, but don't take my word for that. ^.~

Have you ever cleaned your mascara wand before?

Cheers!!

Rimmel ScandalEyes Mascara

Hey darlings!

I'm here today with a Rimmel Scandal Eyes mascara review.

Just the other day while I was putting on my Cosmagic Exte Bomber mascara, I was thinking to myself I really want a volumizing mascara but I'm not one to hoard mascaras. I have 3, and that's the amount I limit myself to.

After arriving home from uni, I checked my mail and received this along with the Rimmel mascara.

Holy crap! Talk about a perfect timing!

Yes. I felt really really lucky that day!

Seriously thank you so much for the mascara Priceline! I really appreciate it. You guys really read my mind!

Now, on to le mascara!

This is what Rimmel has to say about their new mascara.

OUR BIGGEST BRUSH EVER!
It’s time to get involved in a scandal. And this time, it’s massive.

Introducing a scandalous mascara, ready to take your lashes to the next level.  Rimmel’s new ScandalEyes Mascara doesn’t know when to stop. With a brand new oversized brush and innovative formula, be prepared to say hello to lashes you never knew you had. Shaped, plumped, and exaggerated to perfection. Don’t settle for anything less. Be part of the lash revolution.

The new MaxDensity brush, covers your lashes with attention – from corner to corner. Bristles now flex in to deposit mascara and out to comb through clumps, so volume will scream. With scandalous eye opening volume, this mascara should need a license.

Watch false lashes become a thing of the past, as ScandalEyes mascara becomes the ultimate beauty weapon in your make-up bag. This Rimmel revolution has collagen for plumper, sculpted lashes, keratin for strong and healthy lashes.

For lashes so luscious it’s almost criminal! Unleash the wand of Rimmel London’s new ScandalEyes mascara. Start rumours, make heads turn and if anyone asks… you did it!

Did you read that?

I wouldn't. =P

Don't worry, I'll guide you tru it.

Firstly, let's talk about the packaging.

Packaging

I love my makeup products to look sleek and sophisticated, which is the complete opposite of what Rimmel has to offer with this mascara.

It certainly stands out in my collection (which could be a love or hate point for you. Your pick.) and being a fan of their crown logo, I would have preferred it to be more prominent.

Also, do you notice the difference in shade between the mascara cap and tube body? Yuck.

I also find the design on the mascara tube rather atrocious. Like someone hastily put together the below par design on PowerPoint.

These 2 factors alone has really put me off the mascara, giving the packaging design a 2 out of 10. No effort involved IMO. Period.

♥ Brush

Rimmel claims that our lashes will be 'shaped, plumped and exaggerated to perfection with the new oversize brush.'

And oversize is so TRUE. The brush and the tube itself.

The brush is huge, which does serve as a problem if you're applying your mascara in a hurry. You're fairly likely to stab yourself in the eyeball or smudge the mascara on your lids, so take your time with it.

Also, I do find the extra clump on the tip of the wand a tad annoying. There's always a chance of smacking the clump onto the bridge of your nose!

Formula

Formula wise, a rather wet formula which takes a fair bit of time to dry. Good news for layering on heaps of mascara! However, do give it time to properly dry!

I love how the mascara doesn't make my lashes stiff and stick straight. It definitely makes my eyelashes more prominent without it feeling heavy.

Here's what the mascara looks like in action.

Well, I think they're pretty damn awesome!

Here's how the mascara looks like on my falsies.

'Plumper, sculpted lashes'? Yeah. Pretty much.

♥ Waterproof?

Now, the million dollar question.

Can I go swimming in the mascara and still emerge fabulous?

I have no idea!

Instead of googling for the answer like every tech savvy person, I decided to have a lil fun.

I drowned the lil suckers.

Picture 1. At 0 minutes.

Picture 2. At 5 minutes. The mascara has clearly expanded.

Picture 3. While poking the mascara around with tweezers after the 5 minute mark, the mascara started to flake off. I was SOOOO amused!

With what's left of the mascara, I smudged them and... behold! The formula runs.

Conclusion: It's not waterproof. Duh ~

Here's the 'mascara flakes' after gently shaking them off the falsies.

It's it cool?!?!?!?!

Cosmagic Exte Bomber Mascara

Hey dolls!!

Today I'll be reviewing my very first fibre mascara which I'm absolutely loving!!

The Exte Bomber Mascara by Cosmagic!

I choosed Cosmagic because Dolly Wink wasn't in stock. Hehe...

But nevertheless, I wasn't disappointed by the mascara! It's now my staple makeup product because of how convenient it is!!

Let's keep the ravings for later.

Take a look at the mascara!

The mascara features a spiral brush and a good amount of fibres on the brush.

Frankly, I don't know how helpful the spiral brush is, but the short bristles minimises error of accidentally brushing on the eyelids. (Which I absolutely loath from big furry brushes!)

The mascara guarantees an extra 3mm and they even provided an eyelash ruler as a 'challenge'.

Of course, we must put the mascara to the test!

* apologies for the horrifying veins, I guess my eyes got dry from trying very very hard not to blink while taking the picture. =P *

So did it give me the extra sultry 3mm? I would say it did pass the test from below 5mm to 7mm. I'm guessing if I piled on more mascara obsessively, it would definitely reach a higher mark.

Unfortunately, I'm not a fan of dark clumpy eyelashes so I tried to keep my mascara application as clean as possible.

I usually curl my mascara to an 'almost 90 degrees' cause it's just how I like them. ^.^

Does anyone do that as well?

Here's another comparison without curling my lashes.

The mascara gave my lashes a slight curl but I think it works better with curled lashes.

Now the big question, does it hold a curl well?

Here's a picture of my curled lashes after 18 hours.

It survived a scorching hot visit to the cherry farm, a nap and a zillion blinks.

Not bad yeah?

However, that's not my favourite point of the mascara yet!

The mascara has a 'no panda eyes' feature where the mascara can be easily washed out using warm water even thought it's a water proof mascara.

HOW AWESOME IS THAT?!?!

Never again will I have to spend 5 minutes pressing a soaked cotton pad on my eyelashes like a pirate while I watch tv. Arrr!!

If only they'll invented foundation, blush and mascara like that!

On days where I just wear mascara, I can comfortably pop in the shower a gently wash the mascara out without having to go through the eye patch step.

The mascara become soft and rubber like after contact with warm water and I'll just gently pinch the mascara off (because I think it's super fun) but I'm sure you can easily rub them off with your fingers. ^.^

No longer will I step out of the shower and scare myself silly because of the panda eyes I've developed.

BOO!!

✽ Overall
Product quality: ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
Ease of use: ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
Bang for buck: ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

❝ Pros
Good amount of fibres in mascara.
No more panda eyes.
Cheaper than many other mascaras, fibre and non-fibre.

❝ Cons
Hard to purchase.

I hope you liked my review! Give me a hug if you do! =P

Cheers!!
