Purple Glitterati Nails

Hey girls!

Uugh Melbourne weather's getting dull and gloomy and I decided to cheer myself up with a fun happy manicure!

Seriously rain + cold is such a horrible combination. I always wear jeans when it's cold, but when it rains, my jeans gets wet and it gets even colder. I'll reach home freezing and no any different from wearing tights.

But anywayyyy... what better way to happy nails than pastel purple glitter nails! =D

I used (L-R):
OPI Teenage Dream - Revlon 610 LilyOPI Gone Gonzo!

Both glitter nail polishes layered beautifully into a purple shade and blended really well with the pastel purple.

Seriously I'm so in love with the purple that I'm gonna paint my toe nails with the exact same shade. Yay!!

Oh the down side, I'm soooo not looking forward to the removing process. Considering that I have a rather thick layer of glitter polish, this is gonna take foreverrrrr...

Well I hope you enjoyed these nails!

To everyone in Australia and NZ, stay warm!

And to everyone else enjoying spring, darn you. Lol kidding.

Cheers my!!

12 Days of Christmas Fun: Day 2 Snow Inspired Nails

Welcome to Day 2 of our 12 Days of Christmas Fun, featuring Snow Inspired Nails using only 2 colours.

I have always associated snow with the colour blue, silver and white. I remember my first time seeing snow in Korea during Christmas, I was absolutely blown away by how gorgeous and serene the white contrasted with the clear blue sky. The white was so pure that it reflected light, almost silver like.

Hence, today's Snow Inspired Gradient Nails.

I used OPI's No Room for the Blues, a creme polish which I would describe as the sky on a perfect beach day and also Revlon's Fast Dry in 860 Metallic.

1. Paint on your blue base.
2. Dab some silver polish on a makeup sponge.
3. Gently pat on your nails to achieve your desired gradient. Be warned, it is very addictive and fun!

And voilĂ ! Easy glamorous nails for Christmas!

... because red and green nails were so last year.

Thanks for joining us for Day 2 of 12 Days of Christmas Fun!

2 days down, 10 more days of awesomeness to go!

Please keep a look out on my girls Catherine, Karla and Sue for updates!

Cheers!!

Starry Night Nails

Have you ever bought nail polish that looked gorgeous in the bottle but looks totally different when applied to your nails?

This Russian Navy annoys me whenever I look at it. Lol.

While rummaging tru a box filled with discounted OPIs, it saw this extremely beautiful mystical purple  nail polish which I loved! Without looking at it's name, I immediately grabbed and paid for the nail polish.

Mana tau (Malaysian slang for 'who knew'. Lol.) the nail polish was some kinda weird navy blue which I didn't like one bit. The gorgeous red and purple micro shimmer did not show up one bit!

Boy, was I annoyed!

Here's a picture of a thin layer of polish swatched on a piece of paper and held against the sun.

The poor polish laid unused for a year till I decided to use it and give it a twist to suit my liking.

I layered my polish.

Ever tried that?

I painted a layer of MAC Nocturnelle, which is basically a cream black, as the base and applied a thin layer of OPI Russian Navy on top.

It turned out to be a really pretty nail colour which appeared black, navy blue and purple under different lights! I was really happy with it! =D

I also applied Ulta3's Silver Glitter for gradient tips, just to add some pizzaz. Hehe.

Have you ever purchased a nail polish which you didn't like at all?

Cheers!!

Birthday Glitter Nails

Hey girls!

Today I wanna share my nails I did for my birthday week.

It's one of these days. Guess guess!!

Anyway, I was pretty pressed for time so I did something simple and cute.

Pink + Blue + Glitter?

Girly perfection. Mmmmm...

I used (L-R):
Princesses Rule! - Teenage Dream - Gone Gonzo!

Well, it seems like today's nail polish picks has a lot of exclamation marks eh?

When I produce my own nail polish line, all my polishes will have exclamation marks in them!

Ok enough the jibber jabber, let's start glittering up!

Step 1:
I painted my nails with 4 layers of pink OPI polish in Princesses Rule! The polish was pretty translucent but nevertheless, very very pretty! It's one of my favourite nail polishes!

Step 2:
I applied a a pink glittery polish, OPI in Teenage Dream, half way down my nails making sure I 'blend' out the harsh lines as much as I could. It really helped that both polishes were rather similar in colour!

Step 3:
I finished up with a blue glittery polish in OPI's Gone Gonzo! on 1/4th of my nails and of course, a good layer of top coat!

And viola! We are done!

A quick 10 minutes and I have pretty nails!

It's pretty handy to keep glitter nail polishes around if your want something quick, simple with a wow factor!

Here's a close up of both glitter nail polishes.

OPI Teenage Dream
It's so bling! I love it! A light pink base with pink glitter and mini chunky glitter! A must for every princess out there!

OPI Gone Gonzo!
The polish has a transparent base with blue glitter and chunky silver hexagons.

Well I hope you enjoyed my birthday nails!

Cheers my dears!!

Funky Zebra Nail Art

Hello!!

Another super easy nail art tutorial called

Funky Zebra Nails

Have you ever had problems with nail art cause you left hand doesn't wanna listen to your brain and you'll end up with one hand looking fab and the other hand looking like a mess?

Yes. Out everyday dilemma.

But me, myself and I have created a super simple yet cute nail art which I guarantee will be successful.

You'll need:
1. Purple nail polish.
2. Shatter nail polish.
3. Peach nail polish.
4. Base coat + Top coat.
5. Office tape (yeap, you read me right.)

✽✽✽

Now let's get started!!

Step 1:

Start with base coat to protect nails from yellowing and also your peach nail polish to give nails a more healthy colour.

Step 2:

Cut your office tape and tape them on your nails into a french manicure style. Make sure there are no air bubbles or you won't get a solid colour line.

Important!! Make sure your base layer is dry or else when you peel off the tape, the tape will lift up your base colour.

Step 3:

Paint on your purple. Paint as many layers as you want to achieve your desired shade of purple.

Step 4:

Peel off your tape. Satisfying eh? You could either end here with a top coat or leave the tape on and continue on with the shatter nail polish.

Step 5:

Paint on your black shatter nail polish and let it dry before peeling off the tape. Finish up with a top coat and start rocking your funky nails!

p.s. I put the tape slightly lower because I wanted a slightly bigger shatter surface. Hence, you may notice a gap. =)

I hope you liked this simple tutorial.

Tell me how did yours turned out eh? I'd love to hear from you!!

Cheers!!
