Matte Tips Nail

Hello my girlies!!

Does my nails look familiar??

If you've read my previous post, you'd know that I've gotten rid of the salt nail art cause seriously the wine red was starting to freak me out!

So for all of you asking if the sale will last, I'm sorry I can't give you an accurate answer! I will be trying it again with a cute pastel colour then I'll be able to tell you about it's lasting power!

Till then, the answer's gotta wait. =)

Good thing about my previous manicure is that I only have to repaint one nail. Yay!!

Matte french tip nails are everywhere online. However, a large majority of pictures I've seen have a matte base and shiny tips.

I decided to 'flip' the idea around with a matte tip cause frankly, it was way easier! =P

For this manicure, I used Ulta3 in Twilight Fever from Tezza's giveaway (yayyyy!!) and Chi Chi matte nail polish reviewed here.

Twilight Fever has a real unique colour. It's kind of a dark plum-brown with purple micro shimmers.

I managed to pick up the shimmers in the picture!

To achieve a straight clean matte line, I used the tape technique I used previously here.

It's really simple and fuss free!

Try it!! =D

Hope your enjoyed this!

I prefer this sooo much more than the last bloody looking salt one!

Hehehehehe...

Cheers!!

Salt Nail Art

Hey girls!

I have something super exiting to share with you!

Nail art using salt!

Check it outttt!!

As you know, caviar nails are all the rage now.

I really wanted to try rocking caviar nails but I'm too lazy to pop by the art store to get some micro beads. Heh.

So... I used the next best thing.

Salt!

Not knowing how it would turn out, I just went with it!

I started with a layer of polish on my ring finger and I accidentally smudged it.

Well, thank gawd the salt was gonna cover the yucky smudge!

I then added a ticker layer of the same polish and sprinkled salt over the wet polish.

If you're trying it out yourself, you could leave the salt without applying top coat for unique party nails.

After applying top coat, the salt turns kinda transparent.

Lol it looks cool yet strangely eerie at the same time.

I think having a wine red base makes this the perfect Halloween nails!

What do you think?

I'll probably use a different fun colour or a different finishing next time.

If anyone tries it, I'd love to see pictures of your nails! I don't think I've seen any nail art with salt before. =D

* Update:

Thank you so much for the really nice and encouraging responses!

However, I really didn't like how the wine red looked with the salt so I changed them up during the weekend!

You can see more here!

Again, thanks!! Love ya!!

Birthday Glitter Nails

Hey girls!

Today I wanna share my nails I did for my birthday week.

It's one of these days. Guess guess!!

Anyway, I was pretty pressed for time so I did something simple and cute.

Pink + Blue + Glitter?

Girly perfection. Mmmmm...

I used (L-R):
Princesses Rule! - Teenage Dream - Gone Gonzo!

Well, it seems like today's nail polish picks has a lot of exclamation marks eh?

When I produce my own nail polish line, all my polishes will have exclamation marks in them!

Ok enough the jibber jabber, let's start glittering up!

Step 1:
I painted my nails with 4 layers of pink OPI polish in Princesses Rule! The polish was pretty translucent but nevertheless, very very pretty! It's one of my favourite nail polishes!

Step 2:
I applied a a pink glittery polish, OPI in Teenage Dream, half way down my nails making sure I 'blend' out the harsh lines as much as I could. It really helped that both polishes were rather similar in colour!

Step 3:
I finished up with a blue glittery polish in OPI's Gone Gonzo! on 1/4th of my nails and of course, a good layer of top coat!

And viola! We are done!

A quick 10 minutes and I have pretty nails!

It's pretty handy to keep glitter nail polishes around if your want something quick, simple with a wow factor!

Here's a close up of both glitter nail polishes.

OPI Teenage Dream
It's so bling! I love it! A light pink base with pink glitter and mini chunky glitter! A must for every princess out there!

OPI Gone Gonzo!
The polish has a transparent base with blue glitter and chunky silver hexagons.

Well I hope you enjoyed my birthday nails!

Cheers my dears!!

Subtle Neon Nails

Hey!

Did you notice these nails in my Teal look? Just saying. =P

I have a feeling the neon trend will be huge this year!

* Probably not in Australia yet, but I'm guessing this trend my blow up for Spring? Don't take my word for it tho. =P *

Anywhoooo... I'm determined to rock this trend.

I'm gonna take baby steps into this trend, so this is definitely on option on how to rock neons for anyone.

Before we get into the yummy stuff, I wanna apologise for the quality of this post and my nails with the smudging. I didn't wait for the yellow to dry so please learn from my mistakes and wait till the polish dries. ^.^

For today's nails, I used the Ulta3 in Allure and NYC and BYS in Sunshine.

This style is crazy easy, utilising tape like how I did in in my Zebra Nail Art post.

First up, I started with 2 even layers of Ulta3 Allure.

The next steps are pretty self explanatory.

Tape -> Paint -> Rip off tape -> Tahdahhhhh!!

Seal it off with a top coat, but don't me impatient and paint over it while it's still semi-wet. Mine ended up looking like those horror movies with blood running down the words during the credits. Only mine was yellow.

Yellow blood?

I hope you like this subtle neon look. I will be trying more neon looks in the future!

Cheers!!

Funky Zebra Nail Art

Hello!!

Another super easy nail art tutorial called

Funky Zebra Nails

Have you ever had problems with nail art cause you left hand doesn't wanna listen to your brain and you'll end up with one hand looking fab and the other hand looking like a mess?

Yes. Out everyday dilemma.

But me, myself and I have created a super simple yet cute nail art which I guarantee will be successful.

You'll need:
1. Purple nail polish.
2. Shatter nail polish.
3. Peach nail polish.
4. Base coat + Top coat.
5. Office tape (yeap, you read me right.)

✽✽✽

Now let's get started!!

Step 1:

Start with base coat to protect nails from yellowing and also your peach nail polish to give nails a more healthy colour.

Step 2:

Cut your office tape and tape them on your nails into a french manicure style. Make sure there are no air bubbles or you won't get a solid colour line.

Important!! Make sure your base layer is dry or else when you peel off the tape, the tape will lift up your base colour.

Step 3:

Paint on your purple. Paint as many layers as you want to achieve your desired shade of purple.

Step 4:

Peel off your tape. Satisfying eh? You could either end here with a top coat or leave the tape on and continue on with the shatter nail polish.

Step 5:

Paint on your black shatter nail polish and let it dry before peeling off the tape. Finish up with a top coat and start rocking your funky nails!

p.s. I put the tape slightly lower because I wanted a slightly bigger shatter surface. Hence, you may notice a gap. =)

I hope you liked this simple tutorial.

Tell me how did yours turned out eh? I'd love to hear from you!!

Cheers!!

Rock Star Nails

Hey! Yo! Wassup!!

I would like to share a super super easy nail art tutorial I would like to call

★ Rock Star Nails ★

You'll need:
1. Assorted complimentary nail polishes.
2. Transparent top coat.
3. Orange stick and blu tack.
4. Craft glitter (or anything you want actually!)

✽✽✽

Now let's get rocking!

Step 1:
I attached a small blob of blu tack on the tip of my orange stick to pick up the stars and glitter. Obviously you can improvise anyway your creativity takes you.

Step 2:
Paint your nails randomly. =D

Step 3:
Paint a layer of top coat and start attaching your stars!!

Step 4:
Seal the deco in with top coat, and you're done!

I hope you like this simple nail art tutorial.

If you do try it out, I'd love to see it!

Cheers darlings!!
