Fire Inspired Lips

Hey there!

Lately I've really been into fire and flames. Don't know why, but I really love how strong and powerful fire looks.

I decided to play around with my makeup and came up with a gradient lip look inspired by fire.

I used my red Hello Kitty lipstick reviewed here, an orange lipstick from MAC in Ardor and a beautiful gold pigment.

I combined the gold pigment with vaseline to achieve to really gorgeous gold paste.

Mmmmm... Shiny...

And here's how I achieved the gradient lip look!

And you're done! Easy-peasy! =D

Also, for this look, I used normal painting brushes I bought from Spotlight and it worked just fine.

Here's how everything looked after finishing up.

I hope you liked the look!

Thanks for reading!!

=D

Cheers!!

Stila Light Up The World Palette

Hello!!

*waves madly*

Today shall start with a review of the Stila Light Up The World Palette!

Grab some pop corn and let's start!

^.^

I purchased this eyeshadow palette a while back because since I don't have a Naked Palette, I shall have one which looks slightly similar. Heh.

I didn't expect to totally fall in love with this palette but to my surprise, this is my current most used eyeshadow palette.

The palette's simple and classy, no?

But it didn't come with a mirror, which is a bummer.

I was pleasantly surprised to find out that the double ended brush provided was fairly soft and a joy to use (I was initially planning on ignoring them, like I usually do.)

The shader brush on the right's really soft and now I don't bother with my usual brushes because it's good enough for me.

The bushy pencil looking brush on the left is just... weird. Seriously, don't use it. Heh.

Back to le eyeshadows!!

The palette comes in 10 colours consisting of browns, bronze and plums.

As you can see, they go in 'threes' with the first 3 being darkest, middle 3 bring medium and last 3 being lightest. Oh and of course the last white frosty colour - Sugar, which I use for the inner corners of my eyes and brown bone.

During the day, I usually use the lightest colours for the entire eyelid and the medium colour to give my eyes some definition.

And you may have already guessed, I use the darkest colours for more drama for a night out.

The good/bad news (depending on your preference), the eyeshadow isn't super super pigmented as you can see from the swatches on my arm.

A few colours requires a slight stab, violent swishing and swearing for the colours to be picked up on the brush (I may have slightly exaggerated this fact) but some are strangely super pigmented.

Is my palette retarded??

However, I do see it as a good thing because it minimises error when you're in a hurry. It allows major layering without looking over the top, so errors can be easily fixed. =D

I also love the fact that they have plum and pink shades, taking us away from the cliche browns when we need a pop of colour.

Cheers!!

Maybelline Unstoppable Eyeliner in Espresso

Hi hi hello hey!

I'd like to share a short post on my current favourite eyeliner! Well err... Kinda like my favourite eyeliner for the past half year but you get my drift!

So here's a review on the Maybelline Unstoppable Eyeliner in Espresso.

Oh and also a story at the end of the review. =D

✽ Overall

Overview: ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♡
I love it! It's my everyday eyeliner and it hasn't given me anything negative to say about it so far!

Love factors:
It's a twist up which means a precise line everytime. Also means no sharpening which I absolutely don't like!

♥ A really nice dark brown, not as harsh as black but not so subtle that it doesn't blend nicely into my eyelashes.

♥ Doesn't smudge and give me panda eyes during wear. However, it will smudge when rubbed. As seen in the 'smudge test' below.

So... As promised a story!

Once upon a time there was a princess who was trap in a tower by an evil witch cause she wanted her beautiful scarlet red hair but the princess was a strong willed girl so the princess defeted the witch by squashing her with a house and she kept her beautiful hair. The end.

I was kidding!!!

Okok before the virtual pitchforks come out, let me tell you about how I got my hands on the Maybelline eyeliner!

As I was packing to vacate my hostel room a year back, everyone in the residential kinda collected boxes in a heap so everyone was welcomed to take the boxes. I picked up a tiny box cause it was perfect for my stuff, (plus, tiny = cute) and there was a whole heap of papers and bubble wrap in the box. After clearing it out, guess what I found!

Casually laying the the bottom of the box is this unopened eyeliner! And it was calling out to me

'take meeee~~~'

So obviously I took it la! Haha!!

I was really glad the eyeliner magically found it's way to me cause it's a really good eyeliner and just a week before I found it, I was thinking to myself that I really wanted to try a brown eyeliner since my then current black Benefit one was driving me nuts!

Ah fate works in magical ways...

Anyway hope you enjoyed (both) my stories! =P

Cheers!!

Revlon Lip Butter Sweet Tart

Hello!!

=D

Another lip butter review for you! Lol you're probably sick of them by now. Heeee...

Say hello to Miss Sweet Tart!

I choose this colour because of it's sweet creamy pink colour. This is easily one of my favourite lip colours to date!

✽ Overall

Overview: ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♡
Creamy pink goodness! I personally love it because it doesn't have shimmer and it's a really cute Barbie pink!

Hydration: ♥ ♥ ♥ ♡ ♡
Way more moisturising than the Peach Parfiat last reviewed. I'm guessing the shimmer from the Peach Parfiat caused a lil extra dryness.

However, I did notice that my lips cracked and peels excessively after removing the lip butter! Did this happen to anyone who used the lip butters?

Colour payoff:     ♡
This lip butter's pretty pigmented and gives my lips a gorgeous pink. Not too artificial (eg. bimbo pink. lol), but not too natural where no one notices the colour. Also, one swipe over's enough to achieve the colour intensity I wanted.

Application:    ♡ ♡
The smooth creamy buttery application. No complains here!

Packaging:    ♡ ♡
*Copied from my Peach Parfiat review*
The packaging is rather... Mehhh... Nothing special like YSL, but still pretty enough for me to love it! The cap clicks on with a satisfying 'click' and has gone through many adventured with me in my handbag without opening. So it's travel safe!

❝ Pros
More moisturising than regular lipstick.
Gorgeous creamy pink colour.
No shimmer.

❝ Con
Seems to dry out my lips AFTER removing the lip butter.

I'd like to know if anyone experienced this as well? I'll by 'experimenting' to see if the lip butter does lead to dry lips after removing.

Cheers!!

Hello Kitty Red Lipstick

Hey dolls!

I have been wanting a matte vampy red lipstick for the longest time ever and I finally bought one!

When I first saw this red Hello Kitty lipstick, I just knew I had to buy it!

It was compact in size, a beautiful red and had Hello Kitty embossed on the cap!

The beautiful packaging gave me high hopes for this lipstick, but alas...

*falls dramatically to the floor*

...the lipstick left me very very disappointed.

✽ Overall

Overview: ♥    ♡
Very very cute packaging, but lipstick formula is sheer and doesn't glide on smoothly at all which requires a very generous amount of swiping to achieve the pigment level above.
Extremely disappointed with this lipstick.

Colour:    ♡ ♡
A gorgeous vampy red when swatched and I love that it doesn't contain any micro shimmers!

Application:    ♡ ♡
The lipstick was sheer and streaky which made it very hard to work with. I had to swipe the lipstick on my lips a huge number of times to get the colour intensity I wanted and had to use a lip brush to even out the colour.
Also, the colour appears orange-ish in my lips, as seen above.

Packaging:
The packaging's teeny tiny (about 5.5cm) and I love it! The bullet fits snugly in the case and cause of it's compact size, it's pretty obvious that it doesn't have a ridiculous amount of 'wasted space' like many other lipsticks in the market.

And let's not forget the cute Hello Kitty bling on the cap!

❝ Pros
Cute compact packaging!

❝ Con
Sheer lipstick formula, streaky application. Sigh.

Would definitely not purchase again!

Cheers!!

Eyelash Case

Hey girls!!

How are you??

Exams are coming soon and I'm freaking out!! I'm pretty sure loads of you are having exams soon as well, we'll get through it together yeah? =D

Today I wanna share a find which I simply have have have to share with you!

Knowing us girls, we are eyelash junkies, right??

I treat my lashes badly, seriously! I have them all kept in those cheap individual packs they come in and I always shuffle them like I was a card dealer. The packs are so lightweight and so not uniformed in size and colour and it sometimes drive me insane!

I usually dump my lashes in a shot glass or maybe put them on my table and pray that they'll still be there in the morning. No chance of that! =P

When I found this eyelash case, I was crazy happy!! They were pretty, sturdy and at AU$2.80, it was a steal!

The case comes with 4 eyelash compartments which I think is just enough to store my most used lashes. What you see above are my go to day lashes, with both demi lashes on the top as my main ones. I'll be purchasing another case for my night lashes!

The material's really good and it doesn't feel cheap at all! Seriously I find this eyelash case super classy looking!

Another great part? The bottom opens up to house extra lashes! It'll probably hold glue as well but my eyelash glue's too fat to sit in it. -.-"

I dumped a few new lashes in and a scissors in as well. I'm trying to find a better way to store them so that they won't slip and slide around.

Seriously I am in love with this case!

I like them so much more than the Dolly Wink ones cause these keep them lashes neat and pretty.

I've managed to track an eBay seller here that sells the eyelash case, but I'm not too sure how reliable the seller is tho! Saweeeeee...

If you're in Melbourne and want to know where to purchase them, drop me a note and I'll give you directions! =D

Cheers!!

Tsubasa Pink Eyeliner Look

how do you make gifs

Hey girls!

I was inspired by Tsubasa Masuwaka's pink eyeliner look and decided I had to give it a try!

Coincidentally I had lace gloves and pink bling nails, so it was FATED! =P

It was pretty hard to get the pink eyeliner to look as vibrant as Tsubasa's!

For my eyes, lips and cheeks, I actually used the same blusher!

3-in-1! Yay.

How I used the pink blush:

1. Applied a light dusting to the apples of my cheeks with a blush brush.
2. Applied as a liner with a damp angled brush.
3. Applied on lips by mixing the pigment with vaseline.

It was crazy hard to do the "Gyaru Wink' without looking like someone poked me in the eye. I gave up after a few attempts!

Seriously try it and tell me how did you wink turn out!

Thanks for stopping by!

I hope the gif above didn't drive you nuts!

=P

Cheers!!

Liz Lisa Make Up

Hello!!

Yeap you read right!

Liz Lisa has a makeup line called Cosme de Lisa-Jenne released in late April.

With their last venture into eyelashes, I'm guessing it was about time they released a makeup line!

When I initially saw the product on tumblr, I immediately thought to myself

'Oh! Jill Stuart??'

Upon closer inspection, I noticed it was Liz Lisa which got me excited!!

I really want their makeup cause their packaging's gorgeous!

 Eye Shadow

 Blusher

 Lip Gloss

 Makeup Pouch and Mirror

Are the packagings cute or what??

My favourite's the lip gloss cause the wand's just so elegant!!

I do have questions about the gold hardwear tho. Will it be a light or sturdy plastic? Will the gold scratch easily? We'll never know until we get to see them in real life.

What's your favourite??

Cheers!!
